One of Panthera Africa’s main purposes is to be an educational platform where we create awareness about the conditions big cats face in captivity, and how animal welfare and enrichment plays a vital role in giving them the best captive life possible. We are a true sanctuary where no cub petting, breeding or trading takes place.
On our educational visits you have the chance of capturing photographs of the big cats in their beautiful Natural homes, and get to know about their unique stories, in addition to the important facts about the species and their different situations. We strongly believe in the importance of educating you about animal welfare and conservation, so together with a staff member you will be taken for a lovely walk whilst admiring the beautiful cats.
We ask you kindly to arrive 15 minutes prior to your visit.
We look forward to sharing our dream with you, and to introducing you to our four legged friends!

It is a true sanctuary. Our guide and hostess was well informed, patient, welcoming and passionate about the sanctuary. The animals are in wonderful surroundings and are happy, healthy and it was a lovely outing. Will most certainly recommend a visit to Panthera Africa!! - Veronica
A wonderfully informative, friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable experience with Tanika taking us on a jOURney through how it all began and where Panthera is going. Thank YOU! - Vanessa
I was very impressed with what Panthera Africa is accomplishing. The animals are very well cared for, especially when they were subject to horrid conditions prior to their arrival here. I appreciate that the animals come first and foremost, and the staff does a fabulous job bringing a sense of contenment to these beautiful creatures. Here's hoping that cub petting, lion mills, canned hunting and anything else that harms animals is stopped in South Africa, and that these cats and other wildlife can live their lives in an enviornment where humans cannot harm them. - Renee
Thank you very much, it was a great experience. I was at Panthera Africa several years ago and I see how much better the cats are doing, especially the lions. You guys are doing an amazing job taking care of these wild animals. Keep up the great work you are doing! I came with 2 children and if was an interesting educational visit for them too, although after 1,5 hours they were a bit tired. Overall I can recommend a visit at Panthera Africa to anyone - young and older. - Magda
I had a wonderful visit and was glad to see the compassion and caring of the animals. Their enclosures were nice and big, and there was plenty to keep them entertained. I highly recommend going to see Panthera Africa. - Shelley
