Panthera Africa Educational Visit

Stanford, Western Cape

Activity Description

One of Panthera Africa’s main purposes is to be an educational platform where we create awareness about the conditions big cats face in captivity, and how animal welfare and enrichment plays a vital role in giving them the best captive life possible. We are a true sanctuary where no cub petting, breeding or trading takes place.

On our educational visits you have the chance of capturing photographs of the big cats in their beautiful Natural homes, and get to know about their unique stories, in addition to the important facts about the species and their different situations. We strongly believe in the importance of educating you about animal welfare and conservation, so together with a staff member you will be taken for a lovely walk whilst admiring the beautiful cats.

We ask you kindly to arrive 15 minutes prior to your visit.

We look forward to sharing our dream with you, and to introducing you to our four legged friends!

Customer Reviews

Panthera Africa does a magnificent job, not only in caring for their big cats the way they do, but also in educating people on the issues of canned hunting and bone trade. The cats are all hosted in well-built, large enclosures and I was very much impressed by the emphasis on enrichment being offered to the cats. The stories of Lizaene, Cathrine and the many cats that they rescued deserve to be told. Shame on South Africa that these stories are real and need to be told. I strongly recommend people visiting SA to visit Panthera Africa if they are in Western Cape. They more people are aware of the tourist traps that hide behind a facade of "conservation" across the country, the better. And this is the place where they will learn. - Rudi Strubbe

A great experience, it was an enlightening insight, highly recommended. - Vida Holtman

It was the best experience that I had in an authentic sanctuary. I learn so much with our guide and all that beautiful animals that have such a sad beginning story of their lives. Recommend it to all my friends! - Giuliana H Taralli de Mendonça
