Stanford, Western Cape

OPEN!!! 9am and 4pm visits per day except TUESDAYS Please Pre-Book via tel 0711828368 or email info@pantheraafrica.com.

Activity Description

One of Panthera Africa’s main purposes is to be an educational platform where we create awareness about the conditions big cats face in captivity, and how animal welfare and enrichment plays a vital role in giving them the best captive life possible. We are a true sanctuary where no cub petting, breeding or trading takes place.

On our educational visits you have the chance of capturing photographs of the big cats in their beautiful Natural homes, and get to know about their unique stories, in addition to the important facts about the species and their different situations. We strongly believe in the importance of educating you about animal welfare and conservation, so together with a staff member you will be taken for a lovely walk whilst admiring the beautiful cats.

We ask you kindly to arrive 15 minutes prior to your visit.

We look forward to sharing our dream with you, and to introducing you to our four legged friends!

Online booking system closes 24 hours in advance. Please call +27 (0)71 182 8368 to inquire about possible openings on short notice.

Customer Reviews

Hi there the tour was good, a bit underwhelming as to what we expected but good! I also feel that it was quite expensive and you should look at not charging for children under a certain age like 4/5 as they really take so little in! Just a suggestion Thanks so much - Candice

We were amazed at how committed they are to each and every animal that they have in their rehabilitation center. We loved learning about each animal and the kids really were amazed to see some very rare and special cats in person. They are doing so much good and I really am so impressed with their ethos around cat rescue and rehabilitation. 5/5 for adults and 5/5 for the kids! - Lisa

we had a wonderful and interesting guided tour through Panthera with many new information and insights in the life and behaviour of the animals. The animal-oriented big cages for the different cats and the sensitive information proove the quality of this project. We are fans! - Cordula

Had a lovely (slightly soggy) morning at Panthera Africa. Our guide, Steph, was insightful and engaging and the cats treated us to a show of all their unique personalities. Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone traveling in the Overberg area. A true sanctuary like Panthera Africa deserves all out love and support! - Andrea

This was such a stunning experience! As a teacher, I know that telling my students something is often not as effective as showing them. When we were at Panthera, Megan opened my students' eyes to the incredible work that you do and also the way we should view these industries. Thank you for the amazing work that you do - I wish we had the time and resources to provide a safe space for all beings on our planet. We will keep on supporting you and your vision. - Liebe
