Activity Description

One of Panthera Africa’s main purposes is to be an educational platform where we create awareness about the conditions big cats face in captivity, and how animal welfare and enrichment plays a vital role in giving them the best captive life possible. We are a true sanctuary where no cub petting, breeding or trading takes place.

On our educational visits you have the chance of capturing photographs of the big cats in their beautiful Natural homes, and get to know about their unique stories, in addition to the important facts about the species and their different situations. We strongly believe in the importance of educating you about animal welfare and conservation, so together with a staff member you will be taken for a lovely walk whilst admiring the beautiful cats.

We ask you kindly to arrive 15 minutes prior to your visit.

We look forward to sharing our dream with you, and to introducing you to our four legged friends!

My second visit to Panthera. The educational tour was presented by an informative and enthusiastic guide. Animal welfare issues/concerns and in particular big cats "Panthera" is honestly presented. Please support Panthera Santuary. - Margot Brink

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Panthera. We found our guide to be very professional and knowledgeable and it was a lovely experience. - Cynthia Aspeling

We spent a few hours at Panthera during our recent holiday in South Africa, the visit was educational and heart warming. The story how the big cats had been rescued, in a poor state, and to see how well they are cared for, healthy and most importantly happy and content in their large enclosures. the most impressive thing for me was the roar from the mail lions. If I return to the area I would re-visit and an recommend a visit, any animal lover will enjoy the visit. Our young English guide was excellent, polite, friendly and informative. - Jonathan King and family

Such an interesting, well explained and nice visit... I would recomand it to anyone loving "big cats" and looking to know more about their living conditions! - Marie-Laure Laret
